Egypt

Not long now until I will be flying off to the land of the Pharaohs. Yes my friends that's right i am jetting off to Egypt for two weeks of sun, sea and ... mummies.

I will be staying in Sharm el Sheik at the three Georges hotel. I am really excited I have always wanted to visit the pyramids since I was about 7 yrs old.

I have my T G Huges suitcase, filled to the brim with my primarni collection and £1 flip flops, which are bound to snap after the first hour.

I find it so funny when your walking around on holiday, and you can spot from a mile away who the English are. There they are flaunting their Matalan beach towels, primarni sunglasses and ASDA George beach bags.

Nine times out of ten you will be relaxing on the beach, the cool breeze sifting through your hair then "Oi divint gan in the watar withoot ya armbands on man!" and there it is the good old geordie accent, you can just never get away from it.

Anyways please update me on where abouts you are going off on holiday.

Happy birthday to me.

I have now reached another decade in my life, I am now 20yrs old :(. I don't want to grow up. Why can i not stay a little girl for the rest of my life. Not have to worry about bills, running a car, working, studying, just have mammy run around after me and solving all my problems.

People say it all goes down hill from 21. Well at least Ihave another year until that happens.

I did however have a really nice birthday, apart from getting absolutely mortal and running around the streets of Newcastle like a complete mad woman, falling over and throwing up. But hey they say the best nights are those you cant remember lol.

Let me know of some of your crazy nights out.

Can we fix it.... Yes we can!

Am sure my mam thinks I am actually the Wendy from Bob the Builder, and not the Wendy that she gave birth to.

"Wendy will you be in all day?"
"Why?"
"Because I have ordered a few bits of new furniture for my room, and there getting delivered today"
"OK no problem mam"

(KNOCK KNOCK)

And there it was not the few bits of furniture my mam said she had ordered, but 16 large flat packs from Tescos.

It took three men to load all the boxes into the kitchen.

"Just sign on the line love"

And there it was my mams furniture, neatly boxed up. The shiny duck tape, the cardboard colouring, just lovely.

Two bruises, one spelk and two blisters later.....there was her furniture assembled . It took me three whole days to put together two wardrobes, a corner unit, two sets of six drawers and two bedside cabinets.

I like being set a challenge but this was a rather large one. But the smile on her face when she seen it was more than satisfying.

So if you need any D.I.Y jobs doing, please don't ask me hahaha.

First,second and third chances!

Why is it that when we know we have a second chance at something we don't do our best the first time round. Then why is it when we know we have a third chance we still don't do our best?. I am writing this blog as this is the situation I am in at the minute.

I promised myself that last year I would do so much better in my second year at uni, where as a matter of fact I have done a thousand times worse.

At first i thought yes Wendy you are doing well, and then it all went down hill from there. Is it true that some people have natural talent to these things, and without working hard, excel in everything, or do they all really study through the reading list, make notes every lesson and do the extra 100 hours of personal study?.

I think I have messed up big style. In fact I know I have.

My fellow peers I don't think I will be joining you on your road to success, and seeing you all graduate, as I have took the dead end road and will need to start my mission all over again.

I want everyone who reads this to know how important it is to study hard, not leave essays till the last minute and to attend all lectures. Otherwise you will end up like me! A girl who has know idea what the future holds, and a BIG FAT LOSER!

Making money from......Blogging

Well today in my lecture at University we have been discussing how people get paid to blog. I mean not just a general...(run of the tounge) blog, but blogging for an agency (blogger advocacy).

With so many people now dipping their fingers into various social media outlets, there is so much writing going on online but do you feel that you would make a good job of blogging for an agency?

Do you not think that getting paid for writing a blog will kill your creativity. Having to write to a deadline, and not at your own leisure.

I will look at some of the pro's and con's of blogger advocacy.

the pro's

  • Well first and foremost, getting paid ...yeh ££££££

  • Doing a job that you enjoy

  • Gets to know potential customers/clients

The con's

  • Restrictions as to what the blogger can say

  • Curb their own thougtys and opinions

  • False represention of the blogger

I think it is an exciting move foward, using social media in business.

What do you think?
